
ROSE-CHAN DOLL
Rose Chan Doll is the mascot of Takashimaya and was born in the autumn of 1959. In the Christmas of 1994, Takashimaya Singapore presented ‘Rose Chan’ to Singapore for the first time. These ‘Valentine Rose’ were issued on a limited quantity of 3000.
Since then, her fans have seen her in a variety of different outfits evoking diverse moods and themes. In addition, she has donned a United Nations parade of ethnic costumes, including Spanish, Japanese, Peranakan, Dutch, Chinese and the traditional garb of a Venetian gondolier.

Rose-Chan Peranakan 2017
Born 1959, Rose Chan debuted in Singapore 1994 as the “Valentine Rose”. This 2017, she dons the Peranakan Kebaya and Sarong in appreciation of this centuries old culture.
Rose Chan’s Kebaya, is embroidered by master tailors in florals that reflect her gentle nature. The Javanese dyed Batik Sarong of bold colours represent Chinese culture with peony flowers, while her intricately beaded slippers polish off this elegant look.
Altogether, this outfit of varying elements come in a melodious display of cultural symphony that transcends generations.
