If the main Comme des Garcons line is a hard to read and incomprehensible magnum opus, think of Comme des Garçons PLAY as Cliff Notes to that cerebral collection. Housing its PLAY line – the famous heart symbol designed by Filip Pagowski has since become the unofficial beacon of understated cool – the pop-up store with a design that took a leaf from a conventional convenience store, distils the basic essence of the Japanese brand into simple but clever, stylish but wearable designs.
